Student Volunteers

Student Involvement

KSVR’s studios are located in Joe Reeves Hall on the Mount Vernon campus of Skagit Valley College. While there currently is no broadcasting class or broadcasting instructor at SVC, KSVR staff and volunteers are available to work with students and provide training on the basics of broadcasting, podcasting, audio engineering, and production.

Radio University

KSVR offers the opportunity for Skagit Valley College students to learn about radio broadcasting by volunteering as student music show hosts/DJs. Radio University includes training on FCC rules and regulations as well as the basics of hosting a live music/DJ show from KSVR’s on-air studio or producing a show from home.

The current KSVR schedule has 11 one hour time slots open for student DJs starting at 2 pm on weekdays and extending into the evening. When student DJs are not available this time is filled with an eclectic mix of modern music.
