KSVR Presents: Jazz Underground Live at Tarro Theatre

An exciting performance of contemporary big band jazz from renowned Pacific Northwest group Jazz Underground will take place at the Philip Tarro Theatre on the campus of Skagit Valley College in Mount Vernon on Saturday afternoon, October 12th beginning at 1 p.m.  It will be a free concert with suggested donations supporting KSVR-FM, Skagit Valley College Community Radio, a non-commercial educational radio station.

Jazz Underground has been on the regional jazz scene for two decades and has performed throughout western Washington from Westport to Anacortes. Their wide-ranging program will include music by Jaco Pastorius, Duke Pearson, John Coltrane, and Radiohead, along with Pacific Northwest composers Tom Molter, Daniel Barry and David Jones. The group also performs original material composed by members of the band.

KSVR is a full-service FM radio station that has been committed to providing local voices and content, with entertainment, news and information for the Skagit Valley in both English and Spanish since 1973. KSVR provides opportunities for students and community volunteers to produce radio programming that reaches our local populations.
