Running Start student volunteers at KSVR has lots of volunteer opportunities for youth to help out at the station! Meet McKain Webb-Lakey, a Running-Start student at Skagit Valley College, who is also a member of the recently-formed KSVR student-radio club! She hosts a unique music program on Wednesdays from 1 to 2 p.m. that is mostly folk music and old-time radio. [Broadcast Schedule] We asked her a few questions about her experiences so far and why she became involved with her local, community radio station: What inspired you to become involved with KSVR Radio? I've always been into music, and when I started at Skagit Valley College, I received an email from Student Life about a radio club here on campus. |
![]() McKain takes a quick break during her weekly wednesday program for a pose! Any advise for listeners out there who might be interested in volunteering? I thought hosting a radio program would be a cool opportunity, and what's great about a community radio station is you don't have a certain set list to play, and there are not too many community radio stations still in existence so they need our support! |
